2019 Ybees was the best weekend ever!

Number 33 was a great success

Ybees from the known universe agreed that this year was simply the best Ybee event of all time.  We had great projects but we also spent more time at the Lake, in the Pool and on creek walks along the scenic Goose Creek.  Thank you to all the folks who came including a wonderful turnout Saturday night where we fed over 70 people the finest Baby Back Ribs in the Ozarks!  We look forward to seeing you next year!

The new Ybee caps were popular

Kids dig the Ybees

We built a new Council Ring Entrance

We removed the old dead trees, applied a special masonry coating to the concrete wall and built a marvelous climbing wall with a host of challenging climbing features for smaller kids.  Thanks to Beau for designing and supervising this work and to Tom, Hanna, Shawna, Amanda, Abe and others for their excellent work!

We built a new Rifle & Archery Haus

Riflery and Archery are major activities at camp and there's valuable equipment to be stored.  So, we built a new storage building between the two activities.  Beau and Hanna were the leads on this project and they did a great job.  Rough oak siding will be added later when it becomes available.

We installed two new bottle fill stations

Kids at camp carry water bottles everywhere so we installed bottle fill stations in the Rec Hall and the Dining Hall.  Thanks for Brian, Will and Amanda for running the PEX and installing the hardware.

We built two major Rock Projects

Philip and his sturdy Rock Crew built a large retaining wall next to the Pump House to protect the hydrant and well head from damage by vehicles.  They also scouted beautiful boulders and built a rock enclosure and seating at the new Council Ring sign.

We built 26 new camp chairs

Most years the Ybees build sturdy Leopold benches to encourage people to sit and visit.  This year, we built 26 new models with arm rests and everyone agreed are way more comfortable!  Thanks to the Chair Crew!

We cleaned and made fixes to Ranger Camp

Ranger Camp is a great camping destination, but it had fallen on hard times.​  So, we fixed the holes, added a screen door, removed debris and did a thorough makeover of the area about the cabin.  

We removed dangerous trees

Every year, Joe Cool brings his equipment to remove dead and dangerous trees around camp.  This year the picture indicates Joe was wearing his bright purple chaps and made sure he was wearing all of his required safety equipment.

We made repairs to the main road to the Cabins

The main road was channeling rain down to the cabins and causing erosion damage.  Jerry Hamilton used the Cat to smooth the road and prevent future problems. 

We enjoyed excellent food from the Ybee Kitchen Krew

The Kitchen Krew outdid themselves this year with fabulous BBQ dinners over four days.  Many thanks to Chef Brian and the ladies who brought food, prepared food and cleaned the kitchen afterward:  Carolyn, Susie, PalVal were wonderful and we thank them!
